The first day of the 2011 edition of A Day in the Dirt has concluded with many of the regulars in the field as well as Doug Henry riding his special-built Yamaha.  Austin Stroupe made a dominating appearance in the Pro/Am race finishing ahead of Josh Grant on his new Jeff Ward Racing Kawasaki and Jeremy McGrath.  Todays races included the vintage races, vets, film industry races and and kids.   Check out the gallery below from the action from the first day’s races.

Day two of A Day in the Dirt races went off smooth with a few different riders making appearances.  The track again held up great after overnight rain soaked the area.   Andrew Short and Josh Strang put on some great racing today in the Coup de Grace race.   Short held off Strang through the race despite Strang never far behind.   Great racing and a successful weekend for the event.

The annual Day in the Dirt races moved down to Pala Raceway this year after the untimely closing of LA County Raceway.   The races kicked off as normal on the new track, built from a combination of the existings tracks the national track.   The track did get rough during periods of the day, but between-race grooming smoothed the races out and the overall rider reviews of the track were very positive.  The vintage races were the first race of the weekend with many classes through the day.   There was a long list of fast riders, both current and former national racers, as well as film and moto industry riders with many tight races during the day.

The 11th running of the event this year proved to be another success despite the cold weather.]]> Thanksgiving weekend has become the traditonal weekend for the Day in the Dirt race.  The 11th running of the event this year proved to be another success despite the cold weather.  Much of the track was full of deep sand and had 12 hills that connected the pit to the upper sections of the track.  Once again there was a competitive yet friendly atmosphere at the race, as well as a fun track, despite getting rough as each day progressed.  To see photos from the race, you can CLICK HERE TO transworldmx.com.   You can also see a gallery of my friends below.
