With the impending closure of LA County Raceway, I went up to their final grand prix race.   The adjacent quarry has decimated several more portions of the track and parking lot, with the upper track very small.   The final GP used what was left of the track and the start, along with the pit sections and several drops into the pit and back out.   It was a great day of racing with a good turnout.   I’ve done a lot of GP’s and Day in the Dirt at LACR over the years, and always saw the same familiar faces up there.   Too bad the track’s days are winding down, I’ve always had a lot of fun when I went up there.  

LA Country Raceway hosted the second round of the 2010 Vet X Winter Series with the typical fun track layout using both sides of the pit.  There were plenty of sandy hills on both sides of the quarry with the usual obstacles thrown in for added fun.  The track was in excellent condition.  Storms were beginning to loom over the mountains as the afternoon set in and temperatures dropped as the breeze came off the storm clouds.   It ended up being a good day of racing though.   The full gallery of photos can be found by CLICKING HERE.  See below for a few highlights of the day.

The second round of the Vet X fall series was at LA County Raceway this weekend.  The weather was hot but the turnout was great, plenty of riders in all classes.  LA County is a fun track, the hills in and out of the quarry are a lot of fun.    CLICK HERE for the entire gallery of photos from the race.
